  • I incorporate somatic-based (body-oriented) practices into my therapy sessions. Additionally, I am a certified yoga instructor and am trained in therapeutic yoga for trauma recovery. If you are interested in getting out of your seat and incorporating intentional, therapeutic movement into your sessions, this is an option for our work together. I also consider myself to be a relational therapist, so I believe that the relationship that we cultivate together helps you to foster authentic, meaningul connections outside of our sessions.

  • My recommended frequency of meeting will depend on your specific needs. I do typically recommend starting off with weekly or biweekly sessions. This can be flexible and can change as needed. Some of my clients move to monthly or bimonthly sessions, when they are in more of a maintanence phase with their goals and therapy work.

  • 90-minute sessions can be particularly beneficial for EMDR therapy. I find that trauma work is most effective when we have an extended, uninterrupted time to process traumatic memories. This can help you to safely get into the depths of the work. There is research that shows that EMDR can be significantly more effective at reducing symptoms if performed in sessions that are longer than 60 minutes (Chen et al., 2014). Please be aware that 90-minute sessions are available for self-pay only.
